Two 12-tone Songs
for Alto Voice and Piano (1983)
by Ron Hannah

Home
  1. To___ (music when soft voices die...)
  2. Music to Heare

Words: Percy Shelley, William Shakespeare
Duration: about 5 minutes

Very challenging pieces, these two songs are in strict 12-tone style, though the first is much less dissonant than the second. They were premiered by Lori Bell, the same singer who first performed my 3 Songs on Poems of Robert Graves, and who I wish would become active again in the vocal recital circuit. Both poems contain one specific in common: they begin with the word "music".

At the moment, the score exists in hand-copied form only (quite legible). To obtain a copy, free of charge, please send me an email.
