Here is a solid piece of writing for a good
amateur choir, in a freely tonal and mildly dissonant style. It was first
performed at the series of musical
garden parties that began in 1988 at the home of Con Boland, Edmonton's fine photographer. Con had a magnificent garden surrounding his studio, he was a good friend (I even gave him a few piano lessons), and he produced a fine portrait of my family. Sadly, he died in 2017.
Sample Score
These events were sponsored by the Edmonton Composers' Concert Society (now called New Music Edmonton), and I still remember them with fondness.
The opening 4 pages (of 7) may be downloaded above, and the full score obtained by sending me an email (below). I require only that should anyone decide to perform this work that they inform me so that I can keep my Performances page up-to-date. People rarely, if ever, do, but I keep asking :)
